ICA-Africa Hosts Continental Webinar on China–Africa Cooperative-to-Cooperative Trade Opportunities
As part of its commitment to creating greater value for members, the International Cooperative Alliance – Africa (ICA-Africa), in collaboration with the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC), convened a continental webinar on “Unlocking China–Africa Cooperative Trade Opportunities: Leveraging China’s Zero-Tariff Policy for Cooperative-to-Cooperative (C2C) Trade.” The initiative highlighted a significant new opportunity for African cooperatives following China’s expanded Zero-Tariff Policy, which grants duty-free market access to products from 53 African countries.
Bringing together cooperative leaders, apex organizations, and producer cooperatives from across the continent, the webinar provided practical insights on export opportunities, market requirements, technology transfer, financing, and logistics. With follow-up actions including business matchmaking, an African cooperative export database, and an Africa–China Cooperative Business Committee, members stand to benefit from stronger trade linkages, expanded market access, and enhanced capacity to compete globally.
We look forward to turning these discussions into meaningful collaborations and building bridges that connect our cooperatives to new markets, stronger partnerships, and a more prosperous cooperative movement in Africa.
