The International Cooperative Alliance-Africa in partnership with Fairtrade Africa will host a webinar on “Unlocking Carbon Credit Opportunities in Africa: The Role of Cooperatives in Driving Climate Action and Sustainable Livelihoods” on Friday, 29 May 2026.
The webinar aims to build the capacity of cooperatives to engage in emerging climate finance opportunities through carbon credits. Participants will gain insights into how carbon markets operate, opportunities available for cooperatives, and practical pathways for participation in carbon credit initiatives.
The session will bring together cooperative leaders, producer organizations, development partners, government agencies, and climate finance experts to explore how cooperatives can contribute to climate action while creating sustainable livelihoods for communities.
The virtual event will feature presentations, panel discussions, and an interactive Q&A session.
