International Hybrid Conference on Worker Cooperatives and Decent Youth Employment in Africa

The International Hybrid Conference on Worker Cooperatives and Decent Youth Employment in Africa will take place from 24–26 August 2026 in Lusaka, Zambia, bringing together policymakers, cooperative leaders, researchers, and practitioners from across the continent and beyond. Hosted at the M’Kango Golfview Hotel and online, the conference will explore practical pathways for advancing youth employment through worker cooperatives within Africa’s evolving economic landscape. Organised by Cooperation Africa in partnership with ICA–Africa, the conference will focus on key themes including policy dynamics, the role of worker cooperatives in job creation, and policies that support decent youth employment. Through expert presentations, case studies, and cross-sector dialogue, the event aims to strengthen understanding, share innovations, and promote enabling environments for cooperative development and inclusive economic growth in Africa.
